Region 2000 Services Authority will offer a Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Recycling opportunity on Saturday, June 10, 8 a.m. – noon at the Concord Turnpike Convenience Center in Lynchburg.
This is a free service for residents of the counties of Campbell, Amherst, Appomattox, and Nelson; the city of Lynchburg; and the towns of Altavista and Brookneal.
You must show a photo ID. Residents of Amherst, Appomattox, and Nelson counties must bring a voucher from their county solid waste department.
To speed up the process on the day of the event, go to the Region 2000 Services Authority website and print and fill out the Household/Electronic Waste Verification form to bring with you.
Some of the acceptable electronics include televisions, computer monitors, computer printers, and computer accessories like keyboards and mice. Some of the acceptable household hazardous waste items include antifreeze, drain openers, and fluorescent bulbs.
