Please take notice that the Board of Equalization of Real Estate Assessments for the County of Campbell, Virginia will not be conducted on February 20, 2019.
For those interested, future meetings will be held at the Campbell County Real Estate Office in the conference room on the second floor of the Citizens Services Building, 85 Carden Lane, Rustburg, Virginia, between 9:30 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. on February 22, 2019, February 25, 2019, February 26, 2019, February 27, 2019, February 28, 2019, and March 1, 2019 for the purpose of equalizing real estate assessments in Campbell County and for the purpose of hearing complaints of inequalities wherein the property owners allege a lack of uniformity in assessment, or errors in acreage in such real estate assessments, and to hear complaints that real property is not assessed at fair market value. Taxpayers seeking relief who have duly filed applications prior to the cut-off date of January 31, 2019 will be notified as to the time and place of the hearing. At the hearing, the burden of proof shall be upon the taxpayer seeking relief to show that the property in question is not valued at its fair market value, that the assessment is not uniform in its application, or is otherwise not equalized. Final disposition of all applications for equalization for the general reassessment effective January 1, 2019 shall be completed by the Board of Equalization not later than March 29, 2019.
