[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority Receives 2018 GOLD Excellence Award

CCUSA

The Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority (CCUSA) received the 2018 Excellence in Water Treatment Plant Performance award by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water. The awards, distributed annually to those localities for achieving Virginia’s optimization program goals, were presented in April at the 50th Annual Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project (SERCAP) “Water is Life” luncheon.

Three levels of effectiveness and performance are awarded, including GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE. The Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water Recognition Program awards water systems that show excellence in performance and operations and for the treatment and distribution of drinking water to the public. This award is earned by those water systems that go above the established water treatment regulations.

CCUSA earned the GOLD designation for excellence and clarity for the 2018 calendar year. This is the 13th year CCUSA has been recognized by the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water for exceeding standards in clarification, filtration and backwash.

“CCUSA is both humbled and honored to once again be recognized by the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water. Our dedicated employees at the Otter River Treatment Plant have worked tirelessly to ensure the highest quality water for Campbell County citizens,” said Frank L. Davis, Jr., Administrator for Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority.

“The combined effort of staff members, James Pribble, Travis Caldwell, Landon Clay, Daniel Shortridge, Michael Templeton and Joe Guthrie defines what separates CCUSA among other utility companies. It is due to their collaborative teamwork and excellent performance that our organization remains a recipient of this honor.”
