The Central Virginia Planning District Commission (CVPDC), as a result of a $2 million PDC Hosing Development Program Grant award from Virginia Housing (https://www.virginiahousing.com) seeks applications from public, for-profit and non-profit developers for projects that increase the inventory of affordable housing units in our region. The CVPDC region is comprised of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Campbell counties, the city of Lynchburg, and all of the towns, neighborhoods, and communities therein.
The CVPDC seeks Request for Applications from for-profit and non-profit developers for the purpose of providing gap financing to projects that result in development of affordable housing units within the CVPDC planning area footprint. Eligible projects may be single-family, detached for purchase or multi-family rental developments. Regardless of development type, each project must include some units to individuals and families with incomes at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). Applications will be evaluated on a several factors including, but not limited to, the number of affordable units to be developed, ongoing maintenance of affordability, development experience, and project funding partnerships. There is $476,869 in grant funding available in this competitive grant round. All projects must be able to be completed by June 30, 2025.
