Public Information Meeting Announced for Route 24 Corridor Study in Rustburg
 
RUSTBURG-- A virtual public information meeting to discuss a new study of Rustburg’s Route 24 Corridor will be held at 6:30 p.m. on November 19th  via GoToWebinar. To register for the meeting, please visit: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/9059546314562843148
 
The study, which seeks to identify potential improvements to the Route 24 corridor between Brookneal Highway (Route 501/Route 24 split) on the west and Red House Road on the east, is being conducted by the Central Virginia Planning District Commission in partnership with Campbell County and the Virginia Department of Transportation. In addition, EPR, P.C. providing engineering and planning assistance on the project.
 
This virtual meeting, the first of two, will provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about the corridor study project and provide input and insights into concerns and issues related to travel congestion, safety concerns and walking or bicycling in the area. The study will culminate with improvement recommendations based on engineering principles and public input.  Another meeting will be held in the spring to discuss initial findings and to seek public input on the draft improvement recommendations.
 
Study findings can serve as recommendations for future improvements and therefore, once the study is complete, further implementation strategies and funding can be pursued based on direction provided by the Board of Supervisors.
