An interactive information session about a proposed biosolids permit will be held 6:15 p.m.- 6:45 p.m. followed by a public hearing. The hearing will convene at 7:00 p.m. at Rustburg High School Auditorium on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.

A burning ban is in effect for the area west of the railroad tracks located west of Lawyers Road and north of Goggins Road and Buffalo Creek (including the Crest Haven Estates and Wildwood Subdivisions) until further notice.

About Campbell County

From its beginnings as a frontier settlement, to its emergence as a tobacco producer and then a center for industrial manufacturing, Campbell County has continually evolved and grown with national and world changes. Since its inception in 1781, Campbell County’s primary purpose has centered on bettering its citizens Quality of Life. Through the years, our real estate make-up has changed from a mainly agricultural community into a mixture of the suburban and rural. The number of small businesses in the county has increased, and Campbell County’s economy relies on the growth and diversity of both our large industries and small businesses, many of which were started by life-long Campbell County citizens. Serving the town of Altavista, the new building of the Staunton River Memorial Library was formally opened on October 12, 1986 as a branch of the Campbell County Public Library. The building's expansion in 2004 increased the building size from 5,000 square feet to over 6,400 square feet.
