Campbell County, with a population of 56,000 and excellent quality of life, is seeking a highly qualified, forward-thinking, organized, and motivated County Administrator. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our citizens, seven-member Board of Supervisors, County Leadership Team, and staff to implement the vision, mission, and operational goals of the County. The County has approximately 340 full time staff with a FY 2015 operating budget for the General Fund and School Fund of $145 million.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader who has highly developed interpersonal relationship management skills, strong financial and budgeting skills, the highest level of integrity, strategic planning experience, solid analytical skills, a commitment to public service, and ability to negotiate complex issues. There is a strong emphasis on local and regional collaboration with other localities, the private sector, and various government agencies to fulfill the County’s reputation as being well managed, fiscally conservative, and value-driven.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ relevant experience. A Master’s degree in Public Administration or a related field of study is preferred. Desired candidates should have prior executive-level or county/city management experience, with significant knowledge of local government operations and organizational development.

|Organizational Development Specialist
The Campbell County Human Resources Department is looking for a motivated; customer service oriented Organizational Development Specialist. This position directs the needs assessment for training and staff development, provides oversight of Workers Compensation and Occupational Safety and Health Administration programs, assists with the planning, implementation and on-going maintenance of Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Equal Employment Opportunity, Diversity and Compensation Programs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the development and presentation of HR training and instructional programs for management and employees; trains employees on HR Issues and practices, conducts orientations and exit interviews, and also assists with maintenance of the Virginia Institute of Government (VIG) Compensation System and any other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and two years of related experience.
Starting salary range: $27,485-$30,626 based on qualifications and experience
| Assistant Director of Public Works
The Campbell County Public Works Department is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and skilled Assistant Director. This position is responsible for directing various functions of the Public Works Department and oversees project management work of the Maintenance and Landfill Divisions, serves in place of the Director of Public Works in his absence and supervisees Public Work s employees; initiates in house studies and/or reviews consultant studies relative to building projects and solid waste disposal at the County Landfill; plans additions of renovations to County facilities in collaboration with department heads, advises the Deputy County Administrator on technical matters in relation to the operation of the organization, and assists with the review of Erosion and Sediment Control plans for compliance. This position requires knowledge of civil engineering techniques as applied to public works functions; the ability to prepare technical drawings, and experience in budgeting as well as the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Education requirements include a Bachelors Degree as well as five (5) years experience. Civil Engineering degree and prior local government experience preferred.
Starting salary is $49,368-$55,005 depending upon qualifications and experience.
