About Chief Deputy Guthrie
Major L.T. Guthrie has been a Campbell County Deputy Sheriff since 1989. During this time he has held a number of positions within the department.
In 1994, Guthrie was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. In 1996, Guthrie was promoted again to Investigator and served in several areas to include general investigation and the narcotics unit.
In 2004 Guthrie was named as Captain of the Criminal Investigations Unit, which includes general investigations, narcotics investigations, and cyber crimes investigations.
Sheriff Hutcherson named Major L.T. Guthrie as his Chief Deputy Sheriff on January 1, 2012.
Major Guthrie lives in the Brookneal area of Campbell County and has two children.
