Animal Control

Responsibilities



Campbell County Animal Control enforces all state and county laws regarding all domestic animals.

Three wardens provide services Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis during other hours.

Animal Licenses

All dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies. Dogs must be licensed by four months of age. Lifetime licenses are issued by the Campbell County Treasurer's Office for a fee of $15. A certificate of current rabies inoculation is required before tags can be issued.

Stray Domestic Animals

Stray domestic animals picked up by the Animal Control Office are taken to the Campbell County Animal Care and Control Facility located behind Yellow Branch Elementary School at 322 Dennis Riddle Drive, Rustburg.

Pet Adoptions

Friends of Campbell County Animal Control is a 501c3 organization that assists Animal Control by by promoting animal welfare, facilitating adoptions, and raising community awareness.  To volunteer, foster or adopt, citizens may submit application on their website.
