Tax Payment Methods
Learn how to pay your taxes, including the types of payment methods our office can receive.
PAY IN PERSON
Residents may pay Real Estate/ Personal Property taxes in person at the Treasurer's Office.
Our office is located inside the Citizen Services Building; 85 Carden Lane Rustburg, VA 24588. Office hours are: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
For citizen convenience, a drop box is located on the outside of the Citizen Services Building just left of the entrance. Payments must be dropped off no later than 5:00 PM (close of business) on the due date.
PAY BY CREDIT CARD
Credit/Debit card payments are accepted via Elavon, which is a third-party processor. As such, a 2.65% non-refundable site fee per transaction is applied.
Credit/ Debit cards are accepted as on-time payments up until 11:59 PM on the due date.
*Please note: A 10% penalty as well as interest does apply to payments received after 11:59 PM on the due date.
PAY BY MAIL
Payments sent via USPS must be postmarked on or before the due date.
For last-minute mailing, be sure to have your items hand-stamped at your mailing facility to ensure accuracy.
