CAMPBELL COUNTY REGISTRAR SEEKING ELECTION POLL WORKERS
RUSTBURG, VA - The Campbell County Office of the General Registrar is in need of dedicated men and women to serve as Election Officials on Election Day.
Local Registrar, Kelly Martin, invites citizens to help your family, friends and neighbors and serve the Campbell County locality.
"Election Officials are given a great deal of responsibility and trust in the election process. They work together to produce accurate election results, provide equal access to voting and give any necessary assistance to individual voters who need their help," Martin adds.
A number of officials are appointed for each of the voting precincts, and, Martin says, serving in this capacity is a great way be a part of the democratic process.
Election Officials are compensated with a stiped of $165, plus earnings for the required training hours before each election. Election Officials must arrive at their designated precincts by 5 a.m. on Election Day and work until after the polls close, normally at 7:00 p.m.
"While it is a long day, it is an enjoyable way to serve our community, and witness government at work," said Keitha Robinson, Assistant Registrar. "This year, we have a need for officials for the Primary Election, scheduled for June 8, and the General Election, scheduled for November 2."
