Campbell County Public Library System Plans Kick-Off Party for Summer Reading Program
The Campbell County Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-Off Party will be at Timbrook Library on Tuesday, June 6, 3 – 6 p.m. This outdoor party is open to all ages from all across Campbell County. The library patio will be filled with games, decorations, activities, N’ Action Mobile Arcade, and more. You can also pick up your Summer Reading Kit.
If you can’t make it to the Kick-Off Party, you can pick up a Summer Reading Kit at the other CCPLS locations while supplies last. Those pick-up times are the following:
- Altavista: Wednesday, June 7, 3 – 5 p.m.
- Brookneal: Thursday, June 8, 3 – 5 p.m.
- Rustburg: Friday, June 9, 3 – 5 p.m.

Babygarten at Rustburg Library
June 5, 12, and 19, 10 – 10:45 a.m.
Babygarten storytimes involve toys, songs, rhymes, and activities that help babies with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills. For children ages 0 – 24 months and their caregivers. Pre-registration is required at https://campbellcountylibraries.org/storytimes/.
Roots Club: How to Use GIS Tools in Genealogy Research at Rustburg Library
June 15, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Summer Solstice Lantern Sail at Timbrook Library
June 21, 8 – 9:30 p.m.
We will be celebrating the Summer Solstice on June 21, the longest day of the year and the official first day of summer, by sailing paper lanterns on the Timbrook Park pond. Make crafts, take pictures, and create classic summer evening memories together. This event is for the whole family. The lanterns will set sail at dusk (around 9 p.m.).
