Campbell County Parks & Rec Announces Current Offerings

RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Parks and Rec is pleased to announce upcomnig events and programs. To learn more about the events and how to register, please visit the Parks and Rec and follow us on social media. 

Adult Kickball

Mid-August through September. 

Community Park (434 William Campbell Drive in Gladys). 

Fees: $50 per team. 

Beginning in mid-August until the end of September, there will be an Adult Kickball League at Community Park on Sunday afternoons. Please be aware that you sign up as a TEAM, with at least 7 members per team.

Hunter Safety

August 26, 2023 from 9 A.M. – 5 P.M.

Timbrook Library (18891 Leesville Road). 

Fees: Free! 

The Basic Hunter Education Course covers material on hunting safety, principles of conservation and sportsmanship. Students are required to complete the self-study prior to class and will have to turn in the chapter review exercises from the self-study to the instructor at the beginning of class and they may be turned away if the chapter review exercises are not completed.

Yellow Branch Challengers: Fishing

Registrations are open from now until August 24 

The group meets every Thursday from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. 

Lyn-Dan Heights Ruritan Club (2360 English Tavern Road, Lynchburg). 

Fees: Free!

This is a volunteer-led program for individuals ages 6 and up who have intellectual and/or physical challenges. Everyone is welcome!

Timbrook Disc Golf Course Grand Opening Tournament

Registrations: Now until August 25, 2023 

Timbrook Park (19040 Leesville Road). 

Fees: 

$50 Entry Fee Pros. 

$40 Entry Fee Amateur. 

2 Round PDGA C- Tier 

The grand opening of the disc golf course at Timbrook Park is starting off with a tournament! Campbell County Parks & Rec is partnering with Over Throw Disc Golf to host the event for a variety of skill levels. Registrations are open until August 26, so be sure to register with the link below! 

Karate

Registrations: Now until August 15, 2023. 

Timbrook Library (18891 Leesville Road). 

Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 P.M. from August 15 to September 14 in the Timbrook Library Program Room. 

Fees: $65

The Campbell Co. Recreation Department is sponsoring the School of Karate.  Students taking the classes can take a single session or they can continue on until they reach higher belt ranks.
