Campbell County Public Library System Announces Events
RUSTBURG, VA - The Campbell County Public Library’s events and activities are free and open to the public. All upcoming programs for children, teens, and adults can be found at https://campbellcountylibraries.org/. Some are highlighted below:
Babygarten
Babygarten storytimes involve toys, songs, rhymes, and activities that help babies with language acquisition and pre-literacy skills. This program is for ages 0 – 24 months and their caregivers. Available at all of our locations. Pre-registration is required. Find more information and the registration link on our website. 10 – 10:45 a.m. on the dates below:
Rustburg: Mondays, Sept. 11, and Sept. 18
Timbrook: Tuesdays, Sept. 5, Sept. 12, and Sept. 19
Altavista: Wednesdays, Sept. 6, Sept. 13, and Sept. 20
Brookneal: Thursdays, Sept. 7, Sept. 14, and Sept. 21
Storytimes
Our Storytimes program is geared toward ages 0 – 5 and includes crafts, toys, and a story. Drop in anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on the dates below:
Rustburg: Mondays through October 23 (except September 4, Labor Day)
Timbrook: Tuesdays through October 24
Altavista: Wednesdays through October 25
Brookneal: Thursdays through October 26
Teen Trivia
Mondays, Sept. 11 and Sept. 25, 3 – 4 p.m.
Rustburg Library
For ages 12 – 17. Do themed trivia and other activities while enjoying snacks. You can play trivia as an individual or a team.
Storytime Picnic
Each Thursday through Oct. 26, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Timbrook Park Pavilion
Storytime Picnic is at the Timbrook Park Pavilion, which is located between Timbrook Library and the baseball fields. Geared toward ages 0 – 5. We bring the book, outdoor games, and fun, and you bring a snack (optional) and enjoy the day. We will read the selected book on and off throughout the event, do themed crafts, and play yard games. Swing by anytime during the two-hour event.
Understanding How Your Body Works
Tuesday, Sept. 12, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal
At this free program for adults, physical therapist Dr. Jacob Singleton will talk and answer questions about understanding your body as it relates to a healthy lifestyle and how to age well. A Plan in Place

Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista
In this Living Life Well program for adults, take time to create your own medical and emergency binder to keep track of medications, doctor visits, notes, and other emergency planning information. Optional: Bring in any information or documents to add to your binder while you’re here. Rustburg Library: Book Chat on the first Tuesday of each month, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Timbrook Library: Book Bites on the third Wednesday of each month, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.; and Evening Book Club, the last Tuesday of each month, 6 – 7 p.m.
Staunton River Memorial Library, Altavista: Read and Relate Book Club on the third Friday of each month, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Patrick Henry Memorial Library, Brookneal: Written Word Book Discussion Group on the third Thursday of each month, 7 – 8 p.m.
