RUSTBURG, VA - Public Safety Officials have confirmed with the National Weather Service that a smoke plume originating from the Matt Creek Fire in the Jefferson National Forest has drifted into our locality.   While not a threat to Campbell County residents,  you may smell smoke in the area this week as winds carry this plume over our vicinity. 

As conditions remain dry and the threat of fire elevated, please report any fires you may see to 911 immediately. Please remember that a burn ban remains in effect for Campbell County until further notice.
