Campbell County Congratulates the Campbell LEADS Leadership Development Program Class of 2024
RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County is known for its dedication to professional development and ongoing cultivation of leadership skills in employees. As such, on Wednesday, June 12, the Campbell LEADS Leadership Development Program members were recognized for their remarkable organizational presence, and dedication to continued education and outstanding public service ethic. The Campbell LEADS program is an internal staff development program created on the basis of a people-driven value model. Key organizational staff identified leadership training as a core operating principle through which the organization could enhance customer service, communication, ethics, budgeting, and higher levels of institutional knowledge and collaboration. This year, a cohort of 9 employees were selected for training sessions on topics that directly impact public servants such as budgeting, conflict and change management, communication skills, the essence of government service, challenging ethical issues, and planning/team building skills. For eight months, the participants received materials that align with the topics presented, for further discussion in their sessions. In addition, members are assigned to teams of 3-4 to address organizational and community needs, opportunities, and potential innovations for the County. "This program is a local leadership curriculum put in place to facilitate continued leadership development for key individuals in all departments and at all levels of our organization," said Frank Rogers, County Administrator. The Campbell County organization is proud to recognize and applaud the following participants for their participation and engagement in the program: - Willie Ayers, Information Technology;
- Linda Sue Calloway, Public Works;
- Mackenzie Dodds, Parks and Recreation;
- Molly Eden, Economic Development;
- Jonaaron Evans, Public Safety;
- Sean Fitzgibbons, Community Development;
- Travis Knott, Community Development;
- Heather Markey, Public Safety; and
- Cyndal Nash, Public Library.
"We are quite proud of these employees and their accomplishments," notes Rogers. "Their continued commitment and dedication further support our philosophy that leadership is not a position on an org chart, but a behavior in an organization."
