Making Spirits Bright

This year, through support from local businesses, the Christmas light displays in Rustburg have expanded to include a large, lit Christmas tree in the Campbell County Courthouse lawn, and a larger lighted tree silhouette for photo opportunities in the Historic Courthouse lawn. These are in addition to the 3 new lighted units installed last year: a “Season’s Greetings” sign at the Rustburg EMS station; a “Joy” sign at the Historic Presbyterian Church; and a smaller “Christmas Tree” silhouette in the Courthouse lawn.

"The support from local businesses and volunteers for these projects has been wonderful," said Brooke Wright, project coordinator, Campbell County Administration. "When you drive through the village, these lights so impactfully convey our community's warmth and holiday spirit. It's inspiring to local residents and visitors alike."

The Board of Supervisors and staff would like to thank the following business sponsors and volunteers for their efforts in continuing this festive project:

  • Mr. Eddie Turner
  • First National Bank
  • Mrs. Frances (Lou) Merryman
  • Ms. Pat Merryman
  • Sonny Merryman, Inc.
  • Overbey, Hawkins, Wright, and Vance
  • Mountain Ridge Venue, LLC
  • George Nolley, Attorney

Special thanks are also extended to Ricky Parker (Commercial Lighting, LLC) and Campbell County Public Works staff for their efforts in installing the lights.

On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, County staff, local volunteers and our residents, we wish all a merry and bright holiday season.
