Safer Internet Day is February 11: Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Offers Internet Safety Programming
RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is committed to protecting our most vulnerable citizens, our children. We live in a technology driven world and unfortunately the Internet has been used for crimes that target children.
Did you know that according to the Safe Surfin’ Foundation:
- 95% of children have access to a Smartphone
- 37% of children report they have been bullied on-line
- 46% of children reported they are constantly on-line
- 20% of children say they have been the target of on-line sexual solicitations
Major Clifford Wood stated “The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office actively investigates Internet crimes against children by closely working with our local, state and federal law enforcement partners. We know that a child’s innocence can never be replaced, thus we are committed to preventing Internet crimes against children as well as to identify and bring to justice those who use the Internet to harm our children.”
We need YOUR help to keep Campbell County safe!
