Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Assistance in Locating Suspect Wanted for Grand Larceny
RUSTBURG, VA - The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a series of thefts involving VA Lottery Tickets. The suspect, a white male posing as a VA Lottery agent, gained access to multiple gaming machines, resulting in significant losses. Further investigation revealed that he had stolen lottery tickets from several other jurisdictions across Virginia. He also obtained money illegally by redeeming several winning tickets in Lynchburg, VA.
Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated to identify the suspect as Gino Anthony Ortiz. Ortiz was last seen with a military-style haircut and wearing a Tennessee Titans jersey (photo shown below).
Ortiz is currently wanted on two counts of felony Grand Larceny. He also faces charges for felony Obtaining Money by False Pretense and misdemeanor Obtaining Money by False Pretense in Lynchburg, VA.
Ortiz has ties to the Danville area and New Jersey. Campbell County officials are seeking the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending him.
