Campbell County Sheriff’s Office
Welcomes New K9,
T-Bone
New bloodhound joins team to help locate missing persons and wanted criminals
RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is proud to introduce the newest member of its K9 team, a bloodhound named T-Bone. T-Bone is certified in trailing and specializes in finding missing people and locating wanted criminals.
When he’s not busy finding missing children and endangered adults, T-Bone loves spending time with his handler, Lt. Cameron Byrd, and his family. Whether at work or off-duty, T-Bone is full of energy, and according to his handler, 'never turns down an ice cream cone.'
“T-Bone absolutely loves to work,” Lt. Byrd said. “He is quite a special dog and has the passion to have a great career ahead of him.”
Sheriff Whit Clark highlighted the importance of K9 partners on agency teams, because of their specialized training, adaptability, and ability to perform in diverse operational situations. In fact, their presence frequently improves safety, boosts operational efficiency, and increases the likelihood of success in various law enforcement activities.
“Our K9's are some of our greatest assets,” Sheriff Clark said. “These dogs are in the field every day alongside our deputies - finding missing kids, apprehending suspects, even locating drugs. They work incredibly hard to keep our county and its citizens safe.”
