Campbell County Sheriff's Office Arrests Suspect, Cal Lee Davis, Jr, Wanted in Missing Child Investigation



RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Sheriff's Office has arrested Cal Lee Davis, Jr., who was previously wanted on charges of abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the recent investigation involving missing 5-year-old Peyton Marie Knight. 

Law enforcement officials successfully apprehended Davis after an extensive search, and would like to thank both neighboring agencies and the community for their support.

Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Missing Child Located Safely; Campbell County Sheriff's Office Continues  Search for Cal Lee Davis, Jr.


RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Sheriff's Office reports that 5-year-old Peyton Marie Knight, who was previously the subject of a public alert, has been located and is safe.  Law enforcement officials successfully recovered the child after an extensive search, and thank the community for their vigilance and support.

However, the search remains active and ongoing for her father, Cal Lee Davis, Jr., who is currently wanted on charges of abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  Davis failed to return Peyton to her legal guardian during an ongoing custody investigation.  Authorities believe Davis to be in the Central Virginia region. 

Davis is known to frequent Campbell County, Appomattox County, and the City of Lynchburg.  The public is encouraged to remain alert and report any sightings or information regarding his whereabouts.

  • Virginia State Police; and the 
  • U.S. Marshals Service.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Issues Alert for Missing Child Abducted by Parent; Public Assistance Requested


Warrant issued for Cal Lee Davis Jr. after failing to return daughter, Peyton Marie Knight, to her legal guardian.


RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Cal Lee Davis Jr. and his 5-year-old daughter, Peyton Marie Knight.

Davis is currently wanted for abduction and contributing to the delinquency of a minor following an ongoing custody investigation. He failed to return Peyton to her legal guardian as required. Authorities believe Peyton is currently with Davis.  Davis is known to frequent Campbell County, Appomattox County and the City of Lynchburg, but their whereabouts are unknown at this time.
