CCSO CARE Alert: Sheriff's Offices Launches New Safety Campaign to Protect Farmers on Roadways

RUSTBURG, VA - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is proud to announce the launch of a new safety campaign aimed at safeguarding farmers and motorists sharing the roadways throughout the county. This initiative is a collaborative effort with local agricultural organizations, transportation agencies, and community partners to raise awareness about the importance of safety around farm equipment.

Farmers often operate large machinery that can be difficult for other drivers to see, especially on rural and busy roadways. Recognizing the need to enhance safety measures, this campaign emphasizes the importance of patience, vigilance, and respectful driving when encountering farm vehicles.

"The safety of our farmers and the community is our top priority," said Sheriff Whit Clark. "By working together and promoting awareness, we hope to reduce accidents and ensure that everyone arrives home safely."

The campaign includes educational signage, social media outreach, and community events designed to inform drivers about the slow-moving farm equipment and appropriate safety practices.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office encourages all motorists to stay alert, obey posted speed limits, and exercise patience when traveling near farm vehicles. Farmers are also reminded to use proper signage and lighting to alert other drivers of their presence.
