Railroad Crossing on SR 626 in Lynch Station to Close for Maintenance August 26–28

RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County officials announce that the railroad crossing on State Route 626 (Goodman Crossing Road) at Lynch Station will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday, August 26, 2025, through Thursday, August 28, 2025.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow Norfolk Southern Railway, in coordination with SSS Traffic, to perform scheduled railroad crossing maintenance. This work will ensure the continued safety and reliability of the crossing for motorists and rail operations.

In addition to SR 626, Northside Drive will also be closed during this maintenance period. Detour routes will be in place to assist motorists in navigating around the closures.

A detour plan has been prepared to guide local traffic around the affected areas (see attached map). Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs, and exercise caution while traveling in the Lynch Station area during the maintenance period.
