Campbell County 4-H Offers Hands-On Leather Craft Workshop for Teens

Rustburg, VA — The Campbell County Extension Office is excited to announce an upcoming Leather Crafts Workshop for youth ages 13–18, taking place Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office in Rustburg (163 Kabler Lane).

This engaging workshop provides participants the opportunity to learn traditional leatherworking techniques in a fun, hands-on environment. Teens will gain valuable skills in cutting, stamping, edge finishing, and dyeing, while also developing patience, perseverance, and innovation through crafting their own take-home leather projects.

“Our goal is to encourage creativity and craftsmanship while helping youth explore new skills,” said Yvonne Hansotte, 4-H Extension Agent for Campbell County. “This workshop gives participants a chance to express themselves through art while learning practical techniques that can last a lifetime.”

The cost to attend is $30 per participant, which includes all supplies and lunch. Payments can be made by cash or check payable to “Treasurer of Virginia Tech.” Space is limited, and registration is required by Friday, October 31, 2025.
