Campbell County Sheriff's Office Arrests North Carolina Man for Vandalism and Trespassing at Lynchburg Regional Airport
RUSTBURG, VA —
On October 23, 2025, at approximately 12:23 a.m., Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Lynchburg Regional Airport following a report of a male subject damaging airport property, including benches and trash cans.
Upon arrival, deputies located the suspect on the premises and observed him forcibly entering a building by breaking out the glass doors. Deputies made contact with the suspect and were able to take him into custody without incident.
The suspect was identified as Landen Ray Hayden, age 20, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The investigation determined that Hayden, who was intoxicated at the time, had unlawfully entered airport property and caused significant damage, including overturning several drums containing cleaning fluid used by airport personnel in daily operations.
