Rising Hope Health LLC Awarded Fall 2025 $5,000 Start Small Campbell Grant

RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce the newest Start Small Campbell Grant Recipient, Rising Hope Health LLC in Evington, VA. Business owner Rachel Harrison was awarded the grant by Campbell County IDA Chairman Vance Driskill and Economic Development staff on November 13, 2025 at Campbell Connects.

Rising Hope Health LLC is a natural healing and homeopathy practice. Rachel’s passion for the business stems from her personal experience with digestive symptoms throughout her early years. Experiencing these symptoms without finding a clear path to healing led her to earn her master’s degree in nutrition and public health, where she spent over a decade practicing as a holistic nutritionist.

After her son was born with a chronic cough, she discovered the benefits of homeopathy. Rachel has completed a program at the Academy of Homeopathy Education, where she spent over 700 hours studying in a live clinic setting.

Her business name, Rising Hope Health, stems from the hope that she seeks to provide her clients with.

“I feel like homeopathy is a way to provide hope to those who may be in the darkest moments of illness and who may have exhausted all other options and still feel bad,” Rachel said. “I really value the personal relationship that is formed with my clients and providing hope to them.”

Rachel said that the training sessions she completed through the Small Business Development Center (Lynchburg Region) have helped set her up for future success.

“It was great as a startup, because it gave me the exact steps I needed to get my business off the ground,” Rachel said. “Jordan at the SBDC was very helpful in helping me form my business plan and giving suggestions.”

Over the next few years, Rachel hopes to strengthen her business footprint in Campbell County and the surrounding areas, as well as continuing with her mission of providing quality homeopathy to those who may not be able to find it elsewhere.

Rachel encourages anyone who is considering applying for the grant to “go for it.”

“It is a great program that not only helps you form a business plan but also connects you with others who are out in the community,” Rachel said.

About the Start Small Campbell Grant

The Start Small Campbell Grant Program is available to new businesses in Campbell County. To be eligible, a business must be in operation for less than three years or be an existing small business opening in Campbell County for the first time. The business must also hold a valid Campbell County business license and be up to date with local taxes.

As part of the grant application, business owners must attend 2 entrepreneurial training courses offered by Small Business Development Center – Lynchburg Region. Applicants must also complete a business plan review with an approved advisor.
