Campbell County Public Safety Provides Update on Propane Truck Fire at Leland Road/HWY 29; Detours in Place

RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Department of Public Safety and local fire crews remain on scene on US-29 in Campbell County, in the vicinity of Leland Road and HWY 29, where a propane truck fire is actively burning.

Due to the nature of the fuel involved, the propane must be allowed to burn off. Fire crews are closely monitoring the situation to ensure public safety.

All northbound and southbound lanes of US-29 are closed.

Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Colonial Highway (Route 24).

Southbound traffic is being diverted onto Lawyers Road (Route 683).

Significant delays are expected—please avoid the area if possible.

Detours are currently in place, and motorists should follow signage and instructions from authorities on scene.
