Campbell County Public Safety Director, Tracy Fairchild, Thanks Responders for Weekend Incident Support

Rustburg, VA - Campbell County Department of Public Safety Director Tracy Fairchild would like to thank all responders who assisted with the propane truck fire over the past weekend. Despite frigid temperatures, local volunteer departments, Public Safety staff,  law enforcement personnel and multiple other agencies reported to the scene throughout the 23-hour event to ensure the safety of residents in the area as well as those traveling the Route 29 corridor.  

"I want to personally thank all those who assisted with this call, especially during the extremely cold temperatures. Calls of this nature and duration take a great deal of skill and endurance in normal weather conditions; our local responders did an outstanding job keeping everyone safe and the area contained and cleared in below freezing temperatures. We are blessed to have such commitment and collaboration among our local service agencies and I am sincerely grateful for their support and dedication" - Tracy Fairchild, Director of Public Safety.       

 There were no first responder injuries reported and with the number of crews on-scene, teams were able to remove the vehicle to get the road reopened more quickly.
