Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Make Arrest in Rainbow Forest Vehicle Larcenies; Tyler Martin in Custody
RUSTBURG, VA — On February 8, 2026, Tyler Martin was taken into custody by deputies with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office after being identified as the suspect involved in a recent series of larcenies from vehicles in the Rainbow Forest area. Martin was transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority (BRRJA), where he is currently being held without bond. Martin is charged with: - Petit Larceny (Larceny Less Than $1,000), Not From the Person
- Four (4) counts of Tampering With a Vehicle / Damage to Property
- Breaking and Entering an Automobile
The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the citizens who provided camera footage to investigators. In cases such as this, community-provided video evidence is crucial in ongoing investigations and often leads to positive outcomes. In addition, the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office reminds all residents to take the following precautions to help prevent vehicle larcenies: - Always lock your vehicle, even when parked at home.
- Remove valuables such as purses, wallets, cash, electronics, firearms, and keys.
- Do not leave items in plain view, even if they appear insignificant.
- Ensure exterior lighting is working properly and to consider using security cameras when possible.
- Report suspicious activity immediately.
