On Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m., the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office will hold an annual wreath-laying ceremony in remembrance of Deputy Jason Saunders and all fallen law enforcement officers in conjunction with National Law Enforcement Memorial Week. Deputy Saunders was killed in the line of duty on April 3, 2007.
The ceremony will be held at the Memorial Garden, located in front of the Campbell County Sheriff's Office (87 Courthouse Lane, Rustburg, VA 24588). The public is invited to attend.
The agenda will be as follows:

- Sheriff’s Opening Remarks
- Moment of Silence and Prayer
- Introduction of and Words by Guest Speaker, Howard Gregory, Retired Captain VSP
- Placement of Wreath
- Sheriff’s Closing Remarks
- Honor Guard Retire Colors
Citizens, Sheriff’s Office and County employees and their families will be attending this ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Dale and Peggy Saunders (Deputy Saunders' parents) will also be in attendance.
