An important message from the Campbell County Fire Marshal -
If you decide to use permissible fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July, please follow these important safety procedures:
1. If you have fireworks, make sure they are on the 2022 Virginia State Fire Marshal Permissible Fireworks List.
2. Fireworks can only be used on private property with the consent of the owner.
3. Never use fireworks indoors or while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
4. Ensure adequate clearance from people, buildings and combustible material.
5. Have a garden hose or other water source readily available in case of fire.
6. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Never hold the fireworks in your hands while lighting them.
8. Never point fireworks at a person.
9. Be aware that many animals are afraid of fireworks. Keep pets indoors and safe during fireworks displays.
