[ARCHIVED] Campbell County Begins to Update 5-Year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

ceds update

RUSTBURG, VA -  Campbell County contracts Phoenix Advantage Consulting, a woman-owned, economic development and business consulting firm based in northern Virginia, to spearhead the development a five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Phoenix Advantage Consulting kicks off the nearly year-long process with county staff and area stakeholders in February 2024. Strategy development culminates in a detailed document spelling out “game-changing initiatives” to guide Economic Development priorities and programming through 2030.

“We expect the goals identified in the CEDS to create a stronger focus in the programs delivered from Economic Development,” said Nina Rezai, Economic Development Director.  “The priorities we focus on for the next five years will be outlined in the strategic plan and we look forward to being able to respond to the needs of the business community through new programs and initiatives that are focused and have measurable outcomes.”

The consulting group is meeting with county staff and other key stakeholders in the coming weeks. These interviews will explore needs and expectations for the process. The county will also form an Advisory Committee to provide regular guidance and input throughout the project. By providing ample opportunities for public feedback, Phoenix Advantage Consulting ensures that the updated CEDS reflects the community’s vision and priorities.

Previous CEDS documents are currently available online and progress updates will be posted on the economic development website throughout the year at CampbellVirginia.com/CEDS.
