RUSTBURG, VA - At approximately 1:09 p.m. on Monday, September 9, Campbell County E-911 received a call regarding a fire at the Campbell County Landfill at 427 Livestock Road in Rustburg.
Units from Campbell County Public Safety (FIRE/EMS and Fire Marshal) and three additional agencies responded. Landfill operators were also on the scene.
The site was approximately 16 - 20 feet deep and approximately the same dimensions wide.
At 2:47 p.m., the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
