Earth Day Celebration

Timbrook Library

Saturday, April 26, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join us for our Earth Day Celebration for all ages. We will have Earth Day activities, live music, Enchanted Trail, yard games, food truck, tie-dye, crafts, planet-friendly vendors, Friends of the Timbrook Library book sale, and more. What You Need to Know About Virginia Career Works

Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista

Thursday, April 10, 2 – 3 p.m.

Learn about the services offered by Virginia Career Works for job seekers, including job training programs, resume building assistance, interview preparation tips, employer and employee matching, certification opportunities, and more. For adults and teens.

Coding Hour for Kids

Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal

Thursday, April 24, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Our fun and interactive coding hour for kids teaches them the basics of coding, problem solving, and creative thinking. Free. For kids ages 7 – 12 and their families.

ESL Conversation Group

Timbrook Library 

Tuesday, April 15, 6 – 7 p.m.

Practice conversational English with fellow English Language Learners at Timbrook Library (lower level). Tutor led and all are welcome. Snacks will be provided. For adults. Free. Reserve your spot by texting 434-485-1005 or 434-907-7089.

Johnson Health Center Mobile Unit

Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista

Friday, April 18, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The Johnson Health Center Mobile Unit will be at Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista for drop-in appointments. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, Private, and sliding scale fees based on income.
