Summer Reading Kick-Off Party
Timbrook Library
Friday, June 6; 11 AM - 6 PM
Build a make-your-own Summer Reading kit with the “Color Our World” theme and enjoy games, decorations, and activities on the library patio. Geared toward children and teens and their families. Even if you can’t attend, you can still participate in the Summer Reading Program.

Book + Art

Wednesday, June 11; 10 AM – 12 PM
Kids, teens, and families are invited to stop by and do art projects inspired by a book. All materials will be supplied. For ages 3 – 17 and their families.
Adult Bad Art Night
Staunton River Memorial Library
Friday, June 13; 6 – 7:30 PM
Leave your talent at the door, and make bad art. If you make something terrible enough, you might even win the Best Bad Art Award. All supplies and light snacks will be provided. For adults. Free but registration is required at https://secure.rec1.com/VA/campbell-county-va/catalog.
Summer Solstice Lantern Sail
Timbrook Library
Friday, June 20; 8 – 9:30 PM
Come to the Timbrook Library’s patio with your family and celebrate the Summer Solstice by sailing paper lanterns on the Timbrook Park pond. Make crafts, take pictures, and create classic summer evening memories together. For all ages. Rain date is Wednesday, June 25.
Johnson Health Center Mobile Unit
Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista
Friday, June 20; 9 AM – 3:30 PM
The Johnson Health Center Mobile Unit will be at Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista for drop-in appointments. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, Private, and sliding scale fees based on income.
