CCPLS DEC Programs

RUSTBURG, VA - Campbell County Public Library’s events and activities are free and open to the public. All upcoming programs for children, teens, and adults can be found at https://campbellcountylibraries.org. Some are highlighted below:

Gingerbread House Decorating

CCPLS – Patrick Henry Memorial Library, Lynchburg Avenue, Brookneal

Thursday, Dec. 5, 3:30 – 5 p.m.

Gather your family/friends and build a gingerbread house for the holidays. Each group will receive one gingerbread house kit. You will leave your house at the library to display on top of the bookshelves for the community to enjoy. Online registration is required at campbellcountylibraries.org/gingerbread.

Village Wonderland

CCPLS – Rustburg Library, 684 Village Highway, Rustburg

Saturday, Dec. 7, 4 – 6 p.m.

This is a free community event stretching from the Rustburg Library to Campbell County Historic Courthouse. Find someone green pretending to be Santa at the library, and meet the real Santa at the Historic Courthouse. Enjoy free cocoa, a free book for each child, a keepsake ornament to make and take home, snowflake alley, a tree lighting, and caroling. All ages will enjoy the holiday fun.

Santa at Patrick Henry Memorial Library

CCPLS – Patrick Henry Memorial Library, 204 Lynchburg Avenue, Brookneal

Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Come say ‘Hi’ to Santa and enjoy an evening of festive activities. Be sure to pick up a free book during your visit, create a keepsake craft, and drop off your letter to Santa.

Santa Under the Stars

CCPLS – Timbrook Library, 18891 Leesville Road, Lynchburg

Friday, Dec. 13, 6 – 8 p.m.

Take a unique picture with Santa, enjoy activities as a family, and have a festive evening under the winter stars! This event will be indoors and outdoors. Drop off your letter to Santa, make a keepsake ornament, and listen to holiday stories. Each child will receive a free book.

Winter Book Swap

CCPLS – Timbrook Library, 18891 Leesville Road, Lynchburg

Wednesday, Dec. 18, 5 – 6 p.m.

Bring five gently used books you would like to pass on, and take five books home to love. Please make sure that the books you bring are in good condition. Enjoy conversation and hot chocolate while you swap. For all ages.
