Storytime

Enjoy free weekly storytimes for ages 3 – 5 and their families. Includes books, songs, rhymes, scarves, and craft and play stations. Go to the library website for schedule and locations.
Storytime Picnic
Timbrook Library
Thursdays through Oct. 30, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Takes place at the Timbrook Park Pavilion. We will read the selected book on and off throughout the event, do themed crafts, and play yard games. Geared toward ages 0 – 5 and their families.
LEGO® + Labrary and Homeschool Meetup
Tuesdays, September through November
Homeschool Meetup: 2 – 3 p.m.
LEGO® + Labrary: 3 – 5 p.m.
Brookneal: first Tuesdays; Rustburg: second Tuesdays; Altavista: third Tuesdays; Timbrook: fourth Tuesdays.
A STEM program for kids to explore. Stations include LEGO® bricks, circuits, and more. For grades K – 6 and their families. Homeschool Meetup is for families who homeschool.
Enchanted Trail

Timbrook Library
Go on a scavenger hunt in an immersive, outdoor story experience on the Timbrook Park trails. Geared toward pre-school and elementary students and their families.
Kitchen Hacks & Meals for One
Thursday, Sept. 11, 6 – 7 p.m.
Staunton River Memorial Library in Altavista
Join us for a round table of recipe swaps and tips and tricks focused on meals for one. For adults.
The Novel-Tea Hour
Friday, Sept. 12, 2 – 3 p.m.
Campbell County Public Library in Rustburg

Roots Club Presents: TikTok’s LadyTaphos
Thursday, Sept. 18, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Timbrook Library
Alicia Williams, AKA LadyTaphos, went viral in 2020 for her thoughtful and interesting way of showing respect to the departed: cleaning their gravestones. Join us as Alicia explains her cleaning process, discusses the historical records she consults, and describes her journey of internet stardom. For adults.
Scams Against Seniors
Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2 – 3 p.m.
Patrick Henry Memorial Library in Brookneal
This program for adults will be an introduction to newer, tech-based scams against seniors such as AI and Crypto scams and tips to look out for online to stay safer.
